Welcome to 13 Things...The Pretzel Way, our journey into the world of Web 2.0. You may be thinking about joining this journey because you already have a facebook page, you tweet regularly, and you're excited about how you might use some new technology tools with your students. OR...you may be thinking about it because you realize your students know more about technology than you do and you'd like to begin to change that. Either way, I consider us to be experimenting together. (I am definitely not the expert here--just the facilitator!) Over the next little while, we will be exploring 13 different Web 2.0 tools that might bring new life into how we teach. Each week we will add one more "thing" to our list until we have completed all 13 things. Each of us who completes the 13 things will earn a flash drive!
This exploration is meant to be explored on your own or within groups. There will not be formal training or set times for instruction. Please feel free to play! It is the best way to learn how to use these tools. If you need help, ask each other. The more we all assist each other in this process, the better off we'll all be!
If you decide you'd like to join, become a follower of this blog. That way I'll know to add you to the list and can send you updating emails, etc. I will try to post each "thing" sometime on Sunday afternoons.
13 Things...The Pretzel Way is based on the Learning 2.0 program designed by Helene Blowers, Technology Director at the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County in North Carolina. The program has been borrowed and duplicated with permission, under a Creative Commons license.
